Monthly Astrological Insights for July 2020
Date Posted: June 30, 2020

As we begin July, two major planets: Pluto and Jupiter are returning to sidereal Sagittarius on or about July 3 due to their retrograde  motion.  This is a significant planetary event as the explosive Pluto from the earth sign Capricorn (material destruction and forceful life style changer) returns to spiritual and friendly fire sign Sagittarius, and the Sagittarius ruler Jupiter returning to its own sign.  Although these returns in Sagittarius are for short term (Jupiter re-enters Capricorn on November 20, 2020 and Pluto on December 26, 2020) they are likely to provide a bit of relief from the Covid-19 outbreak as I outlined in my posting of March 17, 2020 on Coronavirus outbreak. However, in a grand scheme of Pluto's (first) Capricorn transit that already happened, the Covid-19 is not likely to disappear soon.

In addition, the month of July is likely to experience a variety of planetary impulses ( activating forces of nature) that are likely to stem from four retrograde planets (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune).

Among the retrograde planets, Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter are certainly important as they all will be imparting their impulses, requiring us to stop going forward with our ambitious agenda of acquiring material success and instead taking a pause to look inward and perhaps reflect on life in a meaningful way. And these reflections become the basis for our next step of collective human evolution.

The manifestation of the Pluto's next ingress in Capricorn by the end of 2020 and the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in sidereal Capricorn thereafter will likely to be responsible for return of painful, fearful and destructive world events (especially the resurgent of Covid-19 outbreak or a similar other virus outbreak or an entirely different unwanted event,  natural as well as man-made calamities, unfortunate deaths, violence (racism), senseless killings, etc.,).

Retrograde Mercury (June 18 - July 12)

On June 18, the planet Mercury became retrograde in sidereal Gemini. It stays retrograde in Gemini all the time while it's retrograde. Typically retrograde Mercury means anxieties, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines, unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores. Retrograde Mercury in Gemini means more frustrating periods for leaders, communicators, authors, editors, small business people, people that deal with any kind of communication business.  This is the time not to start a new project or venture, but rather reflect on what's been done so far.  Also, this is the best time to cleanup that closet and do other chores that you have been postponing due to lack of time.

In addition, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart and if Mercury is currently your operating planet, then you are more likely to experience the pronounced effects of retrograde Mercury during this period with respect to matters signified by the house it's currently transiting through in your progressive chart.

Retrograde Jupiter (May 15 - September 13)

Jupiter became retrograde in sidereal Capricorn on May 15 and with its retrograde motion it returns to Sagittarius on July 1, 2020. It remains retrograde in Sagittarius until September 13.

While in Capricorn, being a cardinal and earth sign ruled by Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn (despite debilitated in Capricorn) has a tendency to enhance material prosperity. But during its retrograde period in Capricorn and given the Pluto's presence in Capricorn, the rate of destruction of material wealth is likely to be more significant.

For those who have a well placed Jupiter in their birth charts and if Jupiter's period is currently in operation, such folks are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress.  Remember it's only temporary!  Need to put more energy in to whatever you do to achieve what you need to achieve.

On the world scene, particularly in religious world, "confusion" will dominate and things are likely to move at much slower rate.  The world economy may experience a slower growth.

Retrograde Saturn (May 11 - September 29)

Saturn became retrograde on May 11 in sidereal Capricorn, and is going to stay retrograde till September 29 in Capricorn.  For those who have a well placed Saturn in their birth charts and if Saturn's period is currently in operation, then they are likely to experience slow progress. Best way to deal with retrograde Saturn is to put more energy in to whatever you do to work towards your goal.

On the world scene, generally, the projects that deal with expansion are likely to either stay on hold or experience sluggish progress.  In religious world, things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate.  In the political arena what may seem like progress will turn out to be a disaster.

About President Donald Trump and his current challenges

President Trump's operating Gochar planets (the planets that presently active for him) for July continue to be Saturn and Venus.  In addition, Neptune continues to be the operating planet till July 26.

During July the retrograde Saturn will be in the sidereal Capricorn, in the eighth house  of his Gochar (transit) chart. In his ninefold Gochar (transit) chart, Saturn will be in the ninth house for the entire month. The Venus will be in sidereal Taurus (the 12th house of his Gochar Chart) for the entire month too.

From Dasa standpoint, Saturn continues to be unfavorable, being in the eighth house of his Gochar (transit) and in the ninth house of his ninefold Gochar (transit) chart.  As a result, President Trump may appear to be self-destructive and continues to face challenges in dealing with his friends and adversaries alike. In addition to be frustrated and depressed, he is likely to be in the company of wrong people. Despite the on going Coronavirus crisis, he will continue to misbehave by driving his own agenda with no evidence or proof and have friction with his cabinet members, members of the Coronavirus task force and political adversaries. Furthermore, he will be dealing with his self-created feud with congress men and women and others.  Overall chaos, fear,  confusion and disappointment will likely to dominate to describe his political experiences.

The manifestation of the 12th house resident transiting Venus is likely to be unfavorable for him when it comes to dealing with women and his personal finances. About his personal finances, it  wouldn't be surprising if the upcoming Supreme Court decision on his income taxes doesn't favor him. The 9th house resident Aquarius Neptune and the first house resident ninefold Neptune in his Gochar (transit) charts will continue to create deceptive atmosphere around him (either created by himself, such as by taking hydroxychloroquine, or by some of the people  surrounding him)

The most serious challenge that has been going on for a while is due to the opposition of transiting Pluto and Jupiter to his natal Saturn. During July it is likely to become more intensive than the previous month for him. From governing the country standpoint, he would likely to be overwhelmed by defeat and humiliation.

Thus, during July, the challenging transit of Saturn will continue to present very intensive and painful time for him.  And the opposition of the transiting Pluto and Jupiter to his natal Saturn will certainly continue to create explosive political climate, governing failures, mishandling of coronavirus crisis, and therefore, resulting in  yet another trying and frustrating month.

However, when one looks at the close conjunction of Sun and Rahu, and Rahu and Uranus in the 10th house of his natal chart,  and Moon in very close conjunction with the lunar node Ketu in the 4th house of his natal chart, it's not surprising why he operates the way he does.  It seems to me that he is totally driven by the country's (USA) destiny (at least at this point in history) which is very closely tied with his own due to the Rahu-Uranus conjunction in the 10th house of his natal chart.

It's the reflection of what collectively the country (USA) as a whole is going through at this point in time. Perhaps, it's a part of painful process of transformation and discovery of the next phase of its evolution. If the country's destiny is at the crossroad of "CHANGE" at this point in history, that will certainly be reflected in political events of July. Perhaps, it seems more and more likely that the Coronavirus outbreak and its ultimate toll on Americans finally may bring that "CHANGE".

Global Insights........

The important challenging planetary configurations for July include

Uranus-Saturn (June 30 - July 5) ninefold opposition; Saturn-Rahu (July 25 - Sept 16) quincunx, and Pluto-Neptune (June 8 - July 8) and Neptune-Rahu (July 16 - Aug 2) ninefold quincunxes; Neptune-Uranus (July 21 - Aug 11) and Uranus-Jupiter (July 26-30) ninefold squares.

The manifestation of the Uranus-Saturn (June 30 - July 5) ninefold opposition may be reflected in social or political turmoil in the United States of America, Russia or China as well as tensions rising among these nations.

The Saturn-Rahu (July 25 - Sept 16) quincunx may become responsible for social or political unrest in places like Russia or China. Also, in the United State for the Republican Party and republicans including for the republican president, it may prove to be prudent to stay on guard during this period.

The Pluto-Neptune (June 8 - July 8) ninefold quincunx may mean an outbreak of violence and terrorist activities in Middle east, especially in Syria, Iraq, Israel and Palestine region. Also, the occurrences of natural as well as man-made calamities are more likely during this period. Some of the east-European countries, Russia, and China may experience political as well as social turmoil.

The Neptune-Rahu (July 16 - Aug 2) ninefold quincunx may become responsible for social as well as economic turmoil in Russia and China. Covert activities around the world may find a new momentum (but because of Neptune's secretive character we may never know) with regard to terrorism and other international conflicts.

The manifestation of the Neptune-Uranus (July 21 - Aug 11) ninefold square may be reflected in a sudden change (either positive and negative) in relationship between USA and Russia.

The Uranus-Jupiter (July 26-30) ninefold square may mean challenging times for world religions and religious leaders. Those religious leaders, who are willing to be open minded and ready to listen and act on new and fresh and constructive ideas, are the ones that going to be responsible to transform our religious world to a new level. Others are going to fade away with time.

The Neptune-Rahu (July 27 - Aug 18) sextile may mean positive period for China and Russia. Also, most of the technological areas are likely to make significant progress via inventions and discoveries. Spiritual and religious activities are likely to impart positive energy and create a very healthy atmosphere around us.

The Pluto-Jupiter (June 19 - July 9) conjunction may mean religious and academic and to some extent social fields are likely to see positive changes coming in their respective fields. Initial reaction to the change might appear to be a bit confusing and perhaps chaotic, but the majority of us are going to embrace this new wave of change and are very likely to enjoy it.

The countries that are more likely to be affected during this month are:  China,  Russia, United States, Europe and Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Palestine-Israel regions).
