Monthly Global Predictions for May 2019
Date Posted: April 30, 2019

The retrograde Jupiter's Scorpio return after a brief ingress in Sagittarius

On March 26, 2019 Jupiter entered Sagittarius and briefly stayed there until April 27 (just over a month) and then returned to Scorpio and will stay in Scorpio till November 5, 2019.

Scorpio being fixed and water sign ruled by friendly Mars, Jupiter in Scorpio has a tendency to enhance material prosperity of those who have well placed and connected Mars and Jupiter in their birth charts. For those who have Jupiter's placement in their natal chart more inclined towards non-material aspects of life, Jupiter in water sign Scorpio is likely to help them evolve spiritually. In general, transit of Jupiter in Scorpio is positive.  For one thing spiritual prosperity around the world is more likely to expand. (It must be noted that despite Jupiter's positive influence on spiritual prosperity, effects of other planets should also be taken into account to assess the net result or effect). In addition, the influence of spiritual leaders, social reformers and in general, people that deal with philanthropy and philosophy are likely to take lead in shaping the future direction of human evolution through the philosophical and spiritual debates. Being in the challenging water sign Scorpio, Jupiter's journey through Scorpio will be marked with painful transformation.  In general, the Scorpio Jupiter is known to be responsible for world spiritual transformation and expansion. So from that perspective expect some positive spiritual changes during this period and welcome the Jupiter's entry in Scorpio.

The transit of the lunar node Rahu in sidereal Gemini and Ketu in sidereal Sagittarius (March 8, 2019 - September 25, 2019).......

The backward moving lunar nodes (which represent the point of intersections of earth's orbit around the Sun and the Moon's orbit around the Earth) Rahu and Ketu stay in one sign for approximately 18 to 18 1/2 months, and on March 8, they changed signs (Rahu from Cancer to Gemini and Ketu from Capricorn to Sagittarius). And they remain in their respective signs till September 25, 2020.

Especially for individuals, Rahu and Ketu are considered as karmic planets. Those who have Aries, Leo, Virgo, Libra and Capricorn ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant are likely to be benefited by positive energy of these lunar nodes for next 18 months or so.  While Leo and Virgo ninefold ascendant people will likely to see financial gains and professional success, Libra and Aries ascendant people will put their new ideas to work by successfully implementing them. The Capricorn ascendant people will be victorious over their rivals and overcome heavy odds to be successful in whatever they do.

During next next 6 to 8 months the lunar node Rahu will be making oppositions with planets Saturn and Pluto (and simultaneously the lunar node Ketu will conjunct Saturn and Pluto) These opposition and conjunction aspects will be very strong and intense.

The Saturn-Rahu opposition occurs during March 31 - October 23 (within three degrees).  It usually deals with intense karmic experiences for both individuals and collectively for a society or nation as a whole.

For individuals, based on their natal charts, if they have challenging placement of these planets, they are likely to go through painful material experiences as a part of their karmic redemption process, and only through the awareness while going through these painful experiences, such individuals can transform their lives by understanding themselves, a process usually refers as a self realization.

On collective level (societies or nations), places like Russia, China or Saudi Arabia are likely to experience social or political unrest.  In the United States, the political Republican party and republicans may go through unwanted painful experiences during this period.

The Pluto-Rahu opposition within three degree orb, occurs during February 16 - May 25 (within three degrees). Similar to Saturn-Rahu opposition it deals with intense karmic experiences for both individuals and societies or nations, but such experiences will likely to be very drastic and unbearable.

For those who have challenging placements of these planets in their natal charts, are likely to have intense karmic experiences. These experiences are extremely intense, and they will certainly (and drastically) change our comfort zones that we are used to, and after having gone through a period of struggle and adjustment, we (in a way forced) will likely to arrive at and must adjust to a new level of living (both materially and non-materially).  Again the idea here is the same as that for Saturn-Rahu opposition that only through the awareness while going through these painful experiences, such individuals can transform their lives by understanding themselves, a process usually refers as self realization.

On a collective level, an eruption of new waves of violence in the Palestine-Israel region is likely. In addition, world religions in general, and religious leaders in particular, may experience themselves having to go through crisis that demand changes. In other words, the orthodox religious leaders may come under social and moral pressures to change the way they handle their responsibilities.

About President Donald Trump and his challenges......

President Trump's operating planets (the planets that presently active for him) for May continue to be Saturn and Venus. In addition, Pluto and Ketu have become operating planets and they will continue to be operating planets for him till August 29, 2019.

During May, Saturn will be in sidereal Sagittarius, the seventh house of his progressive chart, and it will be in the 6th house of his ninefold progressive chart. Venus will be in sidereal Pisces (the 10th house of his progressive chart) till May 10, and then in Aries (the 11th house of his progressive chart).

From Dasa standpoint, Saturn continues to be unfavorable, being in the seventh house of his progressive chart, but favorable being in the 6th house his ninefold progressive chart. Thus, it's a mixed picture. Due to being in the 7th house of his progressive chart,  Mr. trump will likely to continue to face challenges in dealing with his friends and adversaries alike. He will continue to be haunted by Mueller report and Trump business litigations. He will even get involved in direct confrontations with people that include not only his adversaries but also with his cabinet members. However, being in the 6th house of his ninefold progressive chart Saturn becomes favorable for him, and therefore, at least to some extent he is likely to have things go his way in politics.

While the manifestation of the 10th house resident transiting Venus will be reflected in more political challenges and obstacles that might prove to be very painful for his ego to handle until May 10,  after May 10, the 11th house resident transiting Venus becomes favorable for him for personal life happiness standpoint.

The 7th house resident Pluto in both the progressive and ninefold progressive charts is certainly not positive for him as he will encounter sudden, unexpected and explosive situations, finding them extremely difficult to deal with. Since the transiting Pluto is in conjunct with transiting Saturn, and both being operating planets, it will certainly prove to be extraordinarily challenging period for him from politics standpoint.  In addition, the 7th house resident transiting Ketu that conjunct both Saturn and Pluto (all being the operating planets) will certainly add fuel to fire further making the matters worse.

Thus, during May, while the challenging transit of Saturn in his the progressive and the favorable transit of Saturn in his ninefold progressive chart presents a mixed picture, the conjunction of three explosive and operating transiting planets: Saturn, Pluto and Ketu in the 7th house of his progressive chart will  create more political and personal challenges from legality and insecurity standpoint, resulting in an extremely trying and frustrating month for him to deal with the fallout from Mueller report, investigations by House democrats, immigration, suspicious and insecure people around him.

Global Predictions........

The important challenging planetary configurations for May include Saturn-Rahu (April 25 - Sept 30) opposition and Pluto-Uranus (April 28 - May 8) ninefold opposition; Pluto- Mars (May 3-5) quincunx, Uranus-Saturn (May 9-17) and Pluto-Rahu (May 25 - June 12) ninefold quincunxes.

The Saturn-Rahu (April 25 - Sept 30) opposition may become responsible for social or political unrest in places like Russia or China, and also for eruptions of violence incidences at unexpected places stemming from racism and religious hate.  In addition, for the Republican Party and republicans in the United States it may prove to be prudent to stay on guard during this period.

The Pluto-Uranus (April 28 - May 8) ninefold opposition may mean a possibility of unique change in the way the current US administration deals with other nations with respect to its tariff war against China and other countries, terrorism agenda and domestic matters that reflect a deep divide in the USA.  This period is also important for democrats and the Democratic party in United States from the standpoint of party's transformation to define what it really stands for, as the planet Pluto with its tremendous energy has a power of irreversibly transforming the field of democratic party's policies to a new level or setting with a new set of norms.

The manifestation of the Pluto- Mars ( May 3-5) quincunx may be reflected in a sudden outbreak of an undesirable happening,  possibilities of both natural and man-made calamities. The countries that are most likely to be affected during this period will be: the United States of America, Iraq, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine and Israel.

The Uranus-Saturn (May 9-17) and Pluto-Rahu (May 25 - June 12) ninefold quincunxes may become responsible for a social or political turmoil in USA, Russia and China, as well as rising tensions among them. An eruption of new waves of violence in the Palestine-Israel, Syria and  Afghanistan-Pakistan regions are likely. In addition, world religions in general, and religious leaders in particular, may experience themselves having to go through crisis that demand changes. In other words, the orthodox religious leaders may come under social and moral pressures to change the way they handle their responsibilities.

The important auspicious planetary configuration for May include Saturn-Jupiter (April 22 - May 3) ninefold trine.

The manifestation of the Saturn-Jupiter (April 22 - May 3) ninefold trine may be reflected in a positive period for religions and religious leaders around the world. People will likely to be convinced with the importance of moral values and will have no difficulty in maintaining their religious faith.

The countries that are more likely to be affected during this month are: The Middle East (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Palestine-Israel regions), Europe, Russia and China
