Comments on Global Predictions for the last month

The important planetary configurations for August are: Pluto-Saturn trine (until Aug 13), Mars-Pluto (Aug 1-3) quincunx and a Mars-Saturn (July 29 - Aug 3) square.  In addition, there are two distinct pairs of ninefold squares with lunar nodes, one with Saturn and the other with Uranus. Also, a total lunar eclipse occurs on August 28, approximately during the hours of 8:00 to 14:00 GMT.  It will be visible in the North American continent and in far East Asia and Australia. This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 2 degrees from the lunar nodes, Ketu and Rahu respectively, and therefore will last for a long time (6 hours). The eclipse will occur with the Southern or descending node Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign Leo and the ascending node Rahu in Aquarius . Consequently, according to Vedic astrology, it is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Leo or Aquarius rising or Leo or Aquarius as moon sign. 

Pluto-Saturn trine is favorable for Russia, China, and perhaps for the eastern European countries. As a result, those countries are likely to experience more economical growth and political stability during the first two weeks of the month. The ninefold squares of Uranus with the lunar nodes, which will be operative throughout the entire month, will likely to be detrimental for the United States. How these squares are likely to be manifested? The possible scenarios may range from social or political unrest to a large scale violence including the terror attacks.  The violence in Iraq will likely to continue and intensify despite the US efforts to contain the insurgency. Also, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Israel and Palestine regions will experience more violence than normal. 

Thus, the countries that are likely to make headline news will be:  United States, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, and Palestine, and Pakistan.

President Bush and his administration:  

Since his operating planet Uranus quincunxes his natal Moon and Jupiter through the entire month President Bush will certainly make poorly conceived and hasty decisions during August that will be responsible for further downfall of his presidency; his downfall will be reflected in public poll . He will continue to be stubborn and even ignore his own advisors in making decisions on key foreign as well as domestic policy matters. As a result, he and his administration will be very defensive and will remain under pressure from not only democrats but also from the republican party leaders. In addition, Rahu's opposition to his natal Mars will make him more confronting not only with his critiques but with his own administration.  August may turn out to be an extremely stressful and depressing month for him.

Before the end of August, if he doesn't yield to his opposition on Iraq war issues, he will likely to do worse in coming months.

The Country:

Uranus-Rahu and Uranus-Ketu ninefold squares are certainly very negative for the country as their manifestations will be reflected in social unrest, political chaos, a large scale violence that include terrorism, and natural calamities. Although it is after the fact (since the posting of this prediction column was delayed until August 4) collapse of the bridge in Minnesota is an example of a natural calamity.

For democrats, August will prove to be a very challenging month. The possibilities of such challenges may include frustration in getting their agenda promoted in congress as well as internal fights between party leaders.  Also, an unfortunate loss of a political leader is a strong possibility.

For republicans, the first half of the month is positive. But then the third week (Aug 13-16) may prove to be disastrous in dealing with Bush administration as well as with democrats on foreign and domestic issues.

·        Russia:  In general, the first half of the month is positive for the country.  However, during the second half (especially during the third week) drastic changes in political power of the current government are likely. The covert activities will be on rise during the last week of the month. Man-made and natural calamities are likely during Aug 25 - 31.

·        Europe:  In general, first half of August is going to be a favorable period for the continent from economical growth and political stability standpoint.  The disagreement of the European Union with the United States on several political and social issues will be severe, and as a result, a serious political tension is likely to develop across the Atlantic. During the third week of the month natural and man-made calamities are likely. 

·        China, Japan, and Pacific-rim countries:  For most of these countries the first half of the month is positive from economy and political stability standpoint. During the second half of the month natural and man-made calamities are likely.

·        Middle East:  The violence and suicide bombings in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine-Israel regions will continue. The intensity or frequency of violence will be on rise.  Covert activities and killing behind the scenes will continue to dominate the news. The notable dates for violence related activities are: Aug 1-3, 13 -16, 19 - 31.

·        Religion:  The first half of the month will certainly  be very hectic for the religious activities all around the world as these activities will face new challenges that demand for change.

      Earthquakes: Based on our earthquake prediction model, the earthquake(s) of magnitude 7 or higher, if occur, are likely to occur on Aug 1-2, 15, 25, 31.

      Because the posting of this prediction was delayed until August 4,  the earthquake of magnitude 7.2 that occurred near Australia on August 1, and several other earthquakes of magnitude between 6.2 and 6.8 that occurred in other parts of the world, to many, will seem like they preceded the predictions.

As listed above, in August, earthquakes of magnitude 7 and higher occurred on Aug 1, 8, and 15. Out of these three, two occurred on predicted dates ( 1 and 15) while the one on August 8 was not predicted. In hindsight, the model did show it to be on the border line of 7 but was not picked.

      While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, accidents, and air crashes, the natural calamities are likely to include extreme weather conditions such as severe cold winters, and equally intensive droughts, hurricanes or typhoons, thunderstorms, earthquakes and fires

Comments on the last month's  World Financial Markets predictions

World financial markets for August will begin with a bearish tone, and stay that way through most of the the month with intermittently mixed days of market. 

It must be noted that the basis for the following predictions mainly includes the influence of the planets Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars along with the slower moving modern planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. For the ninefold analysis, the fast moving planets like Mercury, Venus, Sun, and Moon can also influence the outcome of the world markets. However, these influences, although usually insignificant, are difficult to account for as the analysis then becomes too complex to make market predictions.  Therefore, should it become necessary to account for the influence of fast moving planets the timely advanced updates whenever appropriate will be provided.
