Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of
planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the
following is intended only as a general guideline. For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth
chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your
birth chart, placement
of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the
current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.
Retrograde Mercury (May 16 - June 9)
On May 16, the planet Mercury became retrograde in its
motion. It will stay retrograde in the sidereal zodiac sign Taurus until June 9. Typically
retrograde Mercury means unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines,
unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores.
Retrograde Mercury in Taurus, in general, means more frustrating periods for
businesses (small businesses as well as corporations), constructions and heavy
metal workers, people in entertainment fields, bankers, and brokerage houses.
In addition, for those
who deal with gold or diamonds, orators, columnists, dancers, singers are more
likely to experience the negative aspect of the retrograde Mercury. Also,
if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart, and if
your current planetary cycle provides the results of Mercury then you are more
likely to experience the effects of retrograde Mercury during this period.
Pluto-Saturn opposition (May 19 - June 1)
This is third and the last leg of Pluto-Saturn direct
opposition before the next one to occur about 36 years from now.
For those who have conjunction, square, or opposition of Pluto and Saturn in
their horoscope, and for those whose current planetary operating cycle is
influenced by either of these planets are likely to experience a severe setback
or turmoil in their lives. Such opposition can become a very strong force
to destroy the current setting of your lifestyle and transform it to a totally
new setting which may or may not be desirable depending on the strength and
positive influence of these planets in the natal chart. In any event it's going
to be a irreversible event.
On
the collective level, expect another outbreak of violence and terrorist
activities, a good possibility of natural as well as man-made calamities, and to
some extent, war-like climate in some parts of the world. Tension between
Israelis and Palestinians will remain unabated. Some of the east-European
countries, Russia, and China may experience political as well as social turmoil.
Mars-Pluto Opposition (May 7-10)
The four days of May (May 7-10) are likely to be very
frustrating for some of us. Typically this opposition is very unfavorable. Unexpected problems
are likely to occur with astonishing
speed and without any notice. For those who have such opposition or
conjunction in their birth
chart, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the
current progressive cycle need to be on guard. Stay very low key, not make any new commitment, and avoid taking any sort of risk. Also,
experiences like a sudden incident of fire, or an accident involving explosive
material are very possible.
On the world scene, expect some sudden outbreak of an
undesirable happening, possibilities of both natural and
man-made calamities. The countries that are most likely to be affected during
these four days would be the United States of America, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan,
Palestine and Israel.
Uranus-Rahu
(and Ketu) ninefold square(s) (May
18-31)
Uranus-Rahu
(and Ketu) ninefold squares are going to be very unfavorable for those who have
such squares in their natal charts. Expect sudden loss of money, power, demotions
at work place and/or tarnished reputation in professional and social
fields. If you have such squares in your birth
chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through the
current progressive cycle then you need be very careful. The best thing to do is
not make any new commitment, and totally avoid taking any business or monetary risk. Remember
the time when you felt financially very secured, happy with family, and suddenly
the landscape turned against you and everything disappears. Well, if not exactly
this way but something like this has a good potential to happen (again) ...be careful!
On a collective level, United States and particularly
the President Bush and his administration should take extra precaution in
dealing with foreign matters. Terrorist activities are very likely to occur in
the United States besides the volatile region of the Middle-East (Israel and
