Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of
planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the
following is intended only as a general guideline. For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth
chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your
birth chart, placement
of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the
current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.
Uranus's
re-entry in the sidereal zodiac sign Aquarius (January 24)
One
of the important planetary events of January is the re-entry of the modern planet
Uranus from (sidereal) Capricorn to Aquarius after it's previous entry on April
4 when it stayed in Aquarius
till July 27, and then with its retrograde motion returned to Capricorn and stayed
in Capricorn. After January 24, 2002 it will stay in Aquarius
for the following 6 to 7 years. As mentioned in my last April's prediction,
Uranus being the planet
of change will certainly affect the matters related to Aquarius in a big way.
The drastic changes in social perceptions about the way we live is going to be
tremendously influenced by Uranus's transit in Aquarius. In scientific and
technological areas expect a lot of drastic changes and emerging new ideas will
find their way into innovations and discoveries. The
scientific and technological growth rate will rise at a very rapid pace. A
new wave of philosophers with their new perspectives on living, in general, will certainly
transform our world in next 6-7 years to a new level of understanding.
On
individual level for those who have Aquarius ninefold ascendant should prepare for a brand new cycle of change, especially a very pronounced cycle if Uranus is
a dominant planet in their birth charts. The changes that might occur would be
sudden and would deal with pretty much all aspects of life including marriage,
profession, surroundings, common perceptions and beliefs, and the way of living.
Retrograde Mercury (January 19 - February 8)
On June 19, the planet Mercury becomes retrograde in its
motion and will appear moving backward in the sky. It will stay retrograde in the sidereal zodiac
sign Capricorn. Typically
retrograde Mercury means unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines,
unforeseen obstacles, and disappointment in daily chores.
Retrograde Mercury in Capricorn, in general, means more frustrating periods for
businesses (small businesses as well as corporations), political leaders, people
in authoritative positions, and scientists among others.
In addition, for those who deal with media or journalism, academic institutions like
universities and colleges, banks, as well as marketing and sales people,
diplomats, advisors, counselors, are more likely to experience the negative
aspect of the retrograde Mercury. Also, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart, and if
your current planetary cycle provides the results of Mercury then you are more
likely to experience the effects of retrograde Mercury during this period.
Retrograde Jupiter (Nov 3 - March 2)
Jupiter will continue to be retrograde in its
motion in January. It will stay retrograde until March 2 in the sidereal zodiac Gemini. For those who have
a well placed Jupiter in their birth charts and if Jupiter's period is currently in
operation, such people are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress.
Remember it's only temporary! Need to put more energy in to whatever you
do to achieve what you need to achieve.
On
the world scene, particularly in religious world, "confusion"
will take the center stage and things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate. The world economy will likely to experience a lot
slower growth.
Retrograde Saturn (September 27 - February 8)
Just as Jupiter Saturn will continue to be retrograde during
January. For those who have
a well placed Saturn in their birth charts and if Saturn's period is currently in
operation, then they are likely to experience slow progress.
Remember it's only going to last till February 8! For now, put more energy in to whatever you
do to work towards your goal.
On
the world scene, generally, the projects that deal with expansion are likely to
either stay on hold or experience sluggish progress. In religious world,
things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate. In the political arena what may seem like progress
will turn out to be a disaster.
Pluto-Uranus
ninefold trine (January
1 - February 1)
Uranus-Pluto
trine is going to be very favorable for those who have these planets favorably
placed in their natal charts. Expect monetary as well as power gains,
promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields. The
ideas that you always wanted to pursue but somehow could never get
started....now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and
feel the positive energy flowing through you during this period. It's time
to jump in and enjoy this period.
On a collective level, this is an extraordinary time for
technological discoveries and inventions. Expect some new
important technological breakthroughs during January. For the United States, in
general, January is going to be remarkable and a very successful month.
Pluto-Rahu and Pluto-Ketu ninefold squares (January
1- 9)
The squares of Pluto with the lunar nodes are generally
have tendencies to destroy the present setting of life and transform in to a
totally new one. Those who have better placed lunar nodes and their connection
with Pluto are likely to adapt well to this new change and move to their next
level of evolution, and others are likely struggle and likely to find the change
unbearable. Perhaps the best way to deal with this situation is to stay alert
and extremely cautious in dealing with your surroundings that affect you. Avoid taking any
new risk during this period. And probably be prepared for things are going
to get worse before they get better with new direction in life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go. Avoid any new
ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is
