Upcoming Saturn-Neptune opposition and

What's in for Houston-the city of Saturn for next 10-12 months?

Houston is a largest city from the state of Texas, and the fourth largest in the United States.  It is surrounded by several major refineries and chemical plants, and it has been the energy capital of the world.  Due to oil business it has direct ties with the Middle East; and although the business in city lately has been diversified, a large population of this city still draws revenue from and still heavily depends on energy sector.

The inherent characteristics of the United States are predominantly represented by the planet Uranus. But, as a city, the city of Houston is prominently influenced by the the planet Saturn and then Uranus. In my opinion, influence of Saturn on Houston might range from 50 - 65 percent, while that of Uranus (NASA) might be about 30 - 35 percent.

The following description (in bold) for Houston reflect some of the important characteristics of Saturn:

Houston, the world energy (oil) capital, is a city where conservatives always enjoyed a strong hold. It's a very practical city for dealing with both businesses and social issues. Hardship and laziness exist side by side in this city. The city has a tremendous ability to persevere and it has endured (and will endure) many natural calamities and difficult periods. Many nationally and internationally famous personalities live here that include lawyers, industrialists, reformers, and famous political figures.

As we approach the end of August 2006 an unprecedented planetary event is going to take place.  It's the Neptune-Saturn direct opposition. While Neptune-Saturn opposition occurs about once every 36-40 years, the current opposition (Saturn in Cancer and Neptune in Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn) occurs about once every 180 years. However, the planet Neptune was discovered around 1846, long after the last opposition between Saturn and Neptune took place. Since influence of Neptune on us began after it was discovered and after it became part of our consciousness, the upcoming Neptune-Saturn opposition, therefore, is unprecedented. In addition, during this opposition, the sidereal Neptune will be in Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn while Saturn will be in Cancer, a very emotional and vulnerable sign. Furthermore, because of their retrograde motions the opposition between these planets is going to happen three times or in three legs before they separate away from their opposition.

Typically the first leg of this opposition brings the shock, the second leg, a painful transformation that includes an opportunity to further evolve, and the last leg follows the total transformation with the final cleansing.  The schedule for these three legs for Saturn-Neptune opposition (with an orb of 1 degree longitude) is:

First Leg:   August 25 - September 6, 2006

Second Leg:   February 19 - March 11, 2007

Third Leg:   June 15 - July 3, 2007

In addition to this intense Saturn-Neptune opposition, the following planetary configurations of slow moving outer planets will simultaneously influence the events in next 10-12 months.

Uranus-Jupiter trine     Aug 24 - Sept 3

Pluto- Rahu/Ketu squares    Sept 20 - Oct 18

Neptune-Jupiter square     Sept 20 - 29

Saturn- Rahu quincunx    Oct 16 - 31

Saturn - Jupiter square    Oct 18 - 31

Pluto - Saturn trine    Oct 31 - Dec 5

What are the scenarios that are likely to be played out during the Neptune-Saturn opposition?

Well for one thing the world oil markets will likely to be extremely volatile in next 10-12 months with a greater likelihood of reaching crude oil over $100 per barrel. Obviously the Middle East is going to dominate the world news with constant bombings, violence, terrorism, and the politics of religious fanatic factions. The clashes between Israel and their enemies will intensify during all the three legs of Saturn-Neptune opposition, and also, during September 20 - Oct 18, 2006.  Involvement of the United States in the Middle-East conflict will be deep. Since Neptune is considered to be a planet of deception and Saturn can become extremely violent when perturbed by Neptune's opposition, media deception, covert activities, political espionage, scandals, secret operations, black magic, unjust and unwarranted incidents all around the world (especially in the Middle East area) will be rampant during this opposition.

For Houston, there will be a plenty of occurrences of natural and man-made calamities over the next 10 months. Some of these include hurricanes (Aug 25 - Sept 6), fire related accidents and arsons, tornadoes, rainstorms, severe weather conditions (Sept 20 - Oct 31, 2006, February 19 - March 11, 2007, and June 15 - July 3, 2007), breakout of a deadly biological virus, social unrest, political chaos, immigration issues, and rising crime rate. The refineries and chemical plants surrounding Houston are likely to experience unusual number of accidents and human casualties. Political and business leaders, local news media, local religious leaders will come under intense pressure as some of them may allegedly be involved in scandals. For the world media, in general, (and United states in particular) this period of Saturn-Neptune opposition is certainly going to be a period that will never be forgotten. Houston will heavily dominate the national news during these months.

On a positive note, the Saturn-Neptune opposition will manifest in a very subtle and drastic spiritual and moral transformation that is required for Houston, and also for the world, to evolve further. The local churches, synagogues, temples and mosques are likely to feel the intensity of this transformation.  As a result, the religious norms are likely to transform to a whole new level of understanding that encompasses universal love and compassion.

Earthquake Prediction Model

November 20, 2005

As you have probably noticed in our monthly global prediction section we have only been providing the prediction for a period (or periods) during which a natural or man-made calamity is likely to occur. And we have lumped such calamities with the following qualification:

"While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, accidents, and air crashes, natural calamities include extreme weather conditions such as severe winters, intensive droughts, hurricanes or typhoons, thunderstorms, earthquakes and fires."

While it is extremely difficult to predict the type of calamity and the corresponding location of its occurrence, based on our recent research model for earthquakes, we made an attempt to predict an earthquake (s) with possible geographical location (s) in our monthly global prediction for November for the first time. Accordingly, the following excerpt describes the earthquake related prediction for November:

Thus, the periods of both natural and man-made calamities are: Nov 5-10 and Nov 14-24. During these periods an occurrence of an earthquake in region of Asia that include Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or India is likely. A possibility of a strong hurricane hitting the gulf coast of the United States during the same period is also likely.

To this date three earthquakes have occurred in November. They are:

Nov 14:   A major earthquake occurred at 21:38:51 (UTC) on Monday, November 14, 2005. The magnitude 7.0 event has been located OFF THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist) --- U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center.  (more).

Nov 17:  A strong earthquake occurred at 19:26:56 (UTC) on Thursday, November 17, 2005. The magnitude 6.9 event has been located in POTOSI, BOLIVIA. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist) -- --- U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center. (more).

Nov 19: Strong quake hits Indonesia, no damage reported. A strong earthquake occurred at 14:10:15 (UTC) on Saturday, November 19, 2005. The magnitude 6.5 event has been located in SIMEULUE, INDONESIA. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist) -- --- U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center. (more).

While our earthquake model clearly needs refinements for predicting locations with higher degree of confidence, the model's ability to successfully predict earthquake(s) is reflected above. (comments).

Space Shuttle Discovery Launch Prediction

July 24 2005 (10 AM CDT):

After the abrupt abortion of the scheduled launch of space shuttle Discovery due to malfunction in fuel system little over a week ago it is now rescheduled to be launched on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. As a result, I wondered about planetary configurations (astrology) that might shade some light on outcome for the scheduled launch.  In order to gain some insight for safety and success of the space shuttle launch, I analyzed planetary configurations for both the Challenger disaster that occurred on January 28, 1986 and Columbia disaster on February 1, 2003. The following (in my view) summarizes the planetary effects that could have become responsible for those unfortunate events:

Challenger Disaster:   Jan 28, 1986

Pluto-Saturn ninefold square and Mars-Pluto ninefold opposition.

Pluto being a planet which is usually responsible for accidents and disasters (perhaps it's a part of transformation process necessary for human evolution) and Saturn, another dominant planet usually responsible for unfortunate situations, it seems to me that the challenger disaster might have been influenced by Pluto-Saturn ninefold square.  In addition Mars-Pluto ninefold opposition, Mars being the fierce planet connected to fire and fire related accidents, has certainly further help crystallize that unfortunate event.

Columbia Disaster:  February 1, 2003

Pluto-Saturn opposition, Mars-Pluto ninefold square, and Saturn-Pluto ninefold quincunx, and both Pluto and Mars in sidereal Scorpio.

Again Pluto, Saturn, and Mars play important role through undesirable aspects (squares, oppositions, and quincunxes) in influencing the event negatively.

An important observation and a common factor between these two disasters seems to be a particular point on zodiac.  It's about 27-28 degree of sidereal Scorpio (or about 20-21 degree of tropical Sagittarius).  However, I must warn you that this observation is only based on two data points (two above events), and therefore any conclusion one might draw is likely to be very premature.

Discovery Launch:  July 26, 2005

Now, let's examine the planetary positions for July 26, 2005, especially from the standpoint of aspects between Pluto, Saturn and Mars. There's only one aspect...Pluto-Saturn ninefold opposition, and it occurs during July 30 - August 3. Also, Saturn-Mars ninefold square occurs during July 29 - Aug 2.  And Mercury is retrograde (July 23 - Aug 17).  Note that Mercury was not retrograde when both the Challenger and Columbia disasters occurred.

Based on the planetary aspects of the past disasters the outcome for the upcoming launch, in my opinion, is likely to be one of the following possibilities:

1.  The scheduled flight likely to be delayed or postponed (retrograde Mercury)....a 60% possibility

2. A 30% possibility exists for problem during the time of return to the Earth

3. A 10% possibility for problem at the time of take off

4. Everything's going smooth.....about 40% possibility

Recently a posting by an anonymous person is brought to my attention.  While I usually try to stay away from self-praise indulgence this particular posting has successfully challenged me to observe my own discipline.  Leaving praise part aside the way this posting explains how Bush administration has arrived in settling on unilateral isolationist tone from multi-lateralism is very perceptive. The URL for the posting is: , and the posting is as follow:

March 9, 2003, 12:15pm PST -- Link

When it comes to global astrology predictions, I can pretty much set my watch by this guy. Not only are his predictions accurate, when they're off, he says so in his follow-up comments. It's a spirit of scientific inquiry and detachment, that I find refreshing.

Not surprisingly, this months prediction is largely focused on the United States and potential war in Iraq. While he feels the threat is low, this month, he also says it is most likely in the first two weeks. He describes this period as "anxiety-filled." Well, no kidding. Anyone who can't feel the tension in the air would have to be as heavily medicated as the President appeared to be in Thursday's "press conference." He also holds out hope that in the coming week a diplomatic alternative to war will emerge. Let's hope. I'm sure the diplomats are working overtime, right now. Also, as he has in recent months, he sheds some light on Mr. Bush's astrological challenges. In short, for Mr. Bush, it's all uphill, right now.

A particularly troubling note appears in the following text.

During March 2-15 period, the Pluto-Uranus ninefold square could bring a unique change in the way the current US administration deals with other nations with respect to its war against terrorism agenda, and also with its domestic matters. There will be a transformation of a political strategy that might become responsible of a change in the current political agenda, and foreign policy matters of the Bush administration as the planet Pluto with its tremendous energy has a power of irreversibly transforming the field of politics to a new level or setting with a new set of norms. Expect some serious issues that the Bush administration could get tangled with.

Considering the staunchly unilateral isolationist tone the Whitehouse appears to have settled on, after months of attempted multilateralism... Well, leave us say, I'd hate to think that this is becoming an entrenched norm.

October 31, 2002

General Comments During my recent participation in a forum presenting my view on astrology as a science, I realized that for many my monthly global predictions may seem vague. Let me explain it by giving you the following example.

On the first Thursday of October (October 3) hurricane Lili hit the coast of Louisiana in USA.  If someone has precisely predicted that event, he or she would be a psychic or a clairvoyant.  Such prediction would be based on his (or her) unique intuitive ability or gift of seeing future events. It has absolutely nothing to do with science. On the other hand, using astrology as a science, if an astrologer were to predict such event with the same precision, a lot of planetary conditions (planetary angles, aspects, and their unique positions across the zodiac), which are yet to be scientifically established, must be met.  Unfortunately, the current state of astrology, due to lack of research, or interest, or for whatever reason, has yet to reach that level that an astrologer can make such prediction with a greater degree of confidence. Having said this, somewhere in my monthly predictions for October 2002, I have stated the following:

Natural and Man-made Calamities:  Except for the first eleven days, October, will likely to be a relatively quiet month. More accident-prone period, in my opinion, will be October 1-11, and perhaps October 12-15 affecting mostly United States, Israel, and Palestine.

While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, and accidents, the natural calamities are likely to include extreme weather conditions such as severe cold winters, and equally intensive droughts; and thunderstorms, earthquakes, air crashes and fires.

Note that from natural calamity standpoint I have narrowed the days in October.  Also, I have narrowed the geographical locations that include USA.  As a student of science, I have applied these principles solely based on what I learned (my scientific research) and waited to see if they make any sense. Understandably, for lot of you out there, such predictions may not amount to anything, but to an astrologer, consistently making such predictions is not a small achievement. I hope, someday, solely based on scientific astrology, we can more precisely predict these things.

General comments:  It has been brought to my attention that my monthly global predictions, particularly the ones for the month of September, were noted by few websites and offered their critique, comments and perspectives on my monthly global predictions. Thank you.

About my monthly predictions, every month I compare the previous month's predictions against the actual events and offer my comments.  Apparently these comments went unnoticed.  I have received a lot of email from Europe (UK, Germany, France, Sweden), Australia, Singapore, Japan, and Russia, and few from here in USA complementing me on my September predictions . I understand for those who live in USA being right in the middle of storm of events felt differently.  But from global perspective the world was lot less stressful in September than that in August, and if you look at it with the open mind, even in the USA, actually the stress was replaced by fear. Fear might have caused the stress, and thus stress might have been the result but not the cause. In September in USA it's fear and not the stress that dominated the events.

If you notice that it was the first time since I started putting monthly predictions on web (about two years now) that I predicted difficult and chaotic time for USA, and my September predictions (as quoted below) indirectly reflected the events of September 11.

"However, the squares between the Uranus and the lunar nodes will likely to result in chaotic activities in the United States that would affect political, social, and economic activities in a negative way."

"Except for the first 10 days of the month, pretty much the entire month is going to be filled with events that have to deal with both man-made and natural calamities, especially for the United States, and to some extent both the continents of America."

Why did I predict something like as above for September 2001 and not any other times?

Let me make few things straight.

First of all I'm not a psychic nor a clairvoyant. I'm a student of science ( background information) who once stumbled over a bunch of people called themselves astrologers.  Out of curiosity I further explored in astrology with the sole purpose of proving it wrong. To some extent I succeeded.  However, at the same time, I was surprised and wondered about certain remarkable and very fascinating correlations.  Someone in the past must have researched a lot to develop those correlations in astrology. However, it's sad that today there are very few astrologers who treat and respect astrology as science. No wonder astrology has been ridiculed all the times.  If it is to be ridiculed, ridicule the one (like me) who misinterpret it. But don't ridicule astrology!  I'm not a perfect astrologer, never claimed to be, and never will be. However, I believe there is tremendous amount of opportunity for research to develop astrology as science and collectively benefit from it.  Over last 30 to 35 years I have been researching astrology and during that period noticed some fascinating correlations that allow me to experiment today on a monthly basis.  I wish I had more resources to do more research!
